Lucy Harrison

Lucy Harrison is an artist whose initial interest in forgotten or ignored fragments of language has since developed into an investigation into the subjective nature of descriptions of experience, especially of place.

Lucy’s works extends the beyond the boundaries of printmaking through the manipulation of found and made unique objects, and audio-visual installations. Conceptually she works around themes of language and its disintegration, and of the author in its many guises, from the private detective to the telephone answering machine. Her work is as suited to the traditional letter-press book format as to current technological practices.

Lucy is a prolific artist who attended the Royal College of Art having achieved a BA (Hons) Degree in Graphic Fine Art at the Kent Institute of Art & Design, Canterbury. She currently lectures in Canterbury and London. She has exhibited widely at home and abroad, most recently exhibiting work entitled Haunts at Outpost Gallery, Norwich and has curated several exhibitions and been art editor to an artists’ publication.
