Ella Gibbs

Gibbs takes a broad collaborative and curatorial approach to her practice, placing emphasis on dialogue, process and involvement with people in and out of the arts context. Her participatory projects are nationally known for their discourse surrounding the boundaries of what constitutes art. She was co-founder of Belt, an events space in East London that exhibited work from a wide range of disciplines. Previous projects include ‘Night Stop Cinema’ a five day screening event in the Lea valley from a narrowboat located on the river Lea and The Room of Patience with Tomoko Takahashi at Tate Britain.Ella lives and works in London and currently teaches at UWIC Cardiff
