After studying for a PhD in the chemistry of artificial diamond, and a brief stint working on the development of what was to become Blu-ray disc technology, Simon now lives and works in north Wales as a freelance designer, photographer and illustrator.

His artistic work, inspired by a lifetime of never quite fitting in, deals mainly with recontextualising the otherwise familiar.

Notable exhibitions and performances include Festival Materiais Diversos, Minde, Portugal, Experimentica & May You Live In Interesting Times, Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff, Oriel Davies, Newtown, Conwy Feast, Conwy and Galeri Caernarfon. Simon was shortlisted for the Oriel Davies Open 2012.

The artist was in the following exhibition:
The Autobiography of a Super-Tramp
