Catrin Davies and Lewis Wright are an artist duo that use still life and installation as the focal point of their practice. Through their interpretation of classic still life, Catrin and Lewis tackle the ever-changing relationship between each other and the immediate world around them.

Catrin and Lewis reflect on current ideologies and relating insecurities within a saturated world. They create changeable installations using symbolic references with unpredictable outcomes.
The contrast of light and dark found within classic still lives is explored visually and conceptually. There are struggles, pressures and tensions as well as moments of unity, clarity and precision. The work is Davies and Wright’s attempt to give the still life an unique and contemporary direction rather than just a replication of the classic still.

Catrin graduated in 2009 with a BA in Fine Art from Kingston University, London. Lewis graduated in 2008 with a BA in Fine Art from Kingston University, London. Exhibitions include Welsh Artist of the Year, St. Davids Hall, Cardiff (2009) and 'Whistling In The Dark', Kings Artist Run Initiative, Melbourne, Australia (2012).
