Shamus McPhee Digging For Victory 2015

Shamus McPhee is an artist and activist. He holds a M.A. in Celtic Hispanic Studies from Aberdeen University, Aberdeen, and a postgraduate diploma in Translation from Warwick University, Warwick. He is a founding member of the Scottish Gypsy Traveller Law Reform Coalition (SGTLRC) and was instrumental in establishing the legal ethnic status of Scottish Gypsy Travellers. McPhee’s paintings have been exhibited at locations as diverse as Appleby Horse Fair in Cumbria and the Venice Biennale. His art practice continues to operate as integral to his pursuit of cultural visibility and recognition.
