Concepts of encounter, process and conversation are prevalent in Clare’s work. She delves into various art mediums, going beyond set boundaries in material practice to create work surrounding the social and civic.

Themes of community and public grief are re-occurrences in Clare’s practice – particularly looking at the death of Diana, and the ongoing assumptions of emotional responses and responsibilities. Furthermore, she produced work responding to tap-dancing as a form of friendship and radical action; to a pub threatened with closure to publish a newspaper (working with the regulars) and created a year long skill share project with the local community which ended in a huge community meal.

Clare is a Photography graduate from the University of Brighton. Most recently, she has worked with LLAWN festival in Llandudno (2017) and curated All Back to Carols – a show in a closed pet shop (2016). Additionally, she is the Co-Director of Made in Roath and Director of Arcade + Campfa.
