Primarily, Huw Andrews produces artworks in projects, offering multiple angles on a particular place, focus or impulse. His current situation home or abroad, employed or unemployed invariably shapes the project痴 content. In series, these projects document his ongoing connection (or lack of) to the mainstream.

Through various media, Andrews records spontaneous encounters, personal endeavours and wandering observations; exploring overlooked spaces, thoughts and individuals. Acutely aware however, of the influence of mass consumption on our choices, behaviours and identities, he manipulates these recordings, referencing numerous work and leisure activities. In appreciating the overlooked and trivialising the hyped, Andrews aims to disrupt the mainstream perceptions of value, success and failure we routinely encounter.

Between 1998 and 2006, Andrews undertook various jobs and studies, both at home and abroad. In 2010 he completed a Fine Art degree at Leeds Metropolitan University, winning the Edna Lumb Travel Prize there in 2009. 2011 group exhibitions include, Two Sides of the Same Coin at The Russian Frost Farmers, Wellington, New Zealand, ソAreWeNotDrawnOnwardToNewEra? at g39, Cardiff, twoscore at Chapter, Cardiff, The Value of Things at Parlour Gallery, London and An Exchange with Sol LeWitt at The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, USA. 2011 solo exhibitions include, In Soviet Times My Friends Had Teams Like Barcelona, I Had Wrexham at The Last Gallery, Llangadog and Bide Your Time at Elysium Gallery, Swansea.
