Thomas Goddard’s practice is multi-disciplinary including film, performance, design, and drawing. He begins with action research in response to the social realm and geographical locations. This results in different outcomes that are presented to blur boundaries and uncover what is often unseen or marginal within communities.

Thomas is currently researching ways to practically investigate the significance of performance as documentation looking at Levi Moreno's idea of 'training spontaneity' and working creatively and 'playing' to make something between documentary and fiction. Within his work he often mimics the media's power to deceive, questioning what is real or imagined through the use of the familiar.
Thomas graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art University of Gloucestershire (2004) and Digital Fine Art (2006) Tower Hamlets College, London. Recent exhibitions include Model Gallery (Liverpool Biennial, 2014); Oriel Davies Open (Newtown, 2014); Aid & Abet (Cambridge, 2013); Trade Gallery (Nottingham, 2012). Recent commissions include Outcasting, BBC Wales, Fourth Wall Festival and Locws International in 2014. In 2011 Thomas was one of four UK recipients who received the inaugural Marsh Awards for Excellence in Gallery Education (run by engage). In 2015 Thomas received a Creative Wales Award and has been selected for Standpoint Futures Residency.
