audience
|
g39's city centre location of on Mill Lane is ideal for attracting new audiences from members of the public and tourists passing through the city. We aim to increase our attendance year on year and have succeeded to date with a 20% annual rise. We offer free entrance to all, and over 37,000 visitors to date have attended the gallery's quality art experience.
g39's audience is not defined by age, gender or cultural background, but by an inquisitiveness in contemporary art; therefore it attracts a very broad range of people.

g39 is an artist-run space, and we are sympathetic to artists' needs. We focus our support on recent graduates and unestablished artists, providing a sound foothold on the professional exhibiting ladder. Our emphasis is on new media and installation, although this is not an exclusive remit.

We are heavily reliant on the willingness of our volunteer workforce. Many individuals give up their time and expertise to allow g39 to operate, be they artists or otherwise. If you would like the opportunity to work in a gallery environment there are many ways you can get involved, from invigilating to exhibition changeovers. Everyone involved understands the need of such an organisation in Cardiff and are happy to donate time to see that it continues.
