Annabel Dover

Lives and works in Woodbridge, UK

Annabel Dover's paintings are of things that have disappeared, be it objects, people or places, with all the melancholy on display alongside a naive love of her subjects.

Projects have included systematically making one painting a day, attempting to capture traces of things that are constantly disappearing. The paintings are presented as if in an inventory or a museum of different artefacts from varying situations grouped together, perhaps a person’s memories captured in an attempt to document them. Other projects have included drawings of objects presented to a psychic and a study of birds from the British Isles.

Recent shows include The Jerwood Drawing Prize, Transition, London and The Grundy Art Gallery, Blackpool.
