Paul Cabuts works in the evolving field of documentary photography and has developed an independent practice that has been grounded in the Valleys of South Wales.
The colourful, typographical nature of his work celebrates contemporary manifestations of the culturally less dominant, alternative histories of the area. An cross section of his photographs include focused studies of the gable end of housing terraces, electricity pylons and mobile phone masts that criss-cross across Wales.
A recipient of a Creative Wales Award from the Arts Council of Wales, Cabuts has been commissioned to work on numerous photography projects including the BBC’s BAFTA Cymru Award winning Capture Wales project.
