Jorge Lizalde

b. 1978, Zaragoza, Spain
Lives and works in Cardiff

Jorge Lizalde works mainly with photography and moving image. He also creates installations in spaces and extensively uses online libraries, blogs and social networks.

His main method is to observe and listen. The work grows out of his interests and observations of what is around him at a precise time. His overall intention and approach always questions what the image’s core is made of, space and time, through the understanding and investigation of the media and tools involved, bringing it to a new physical level. What occurs, develops and evolves over time is what he then tries to communicate.

Jorge graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Salamanca University, Spain in 2003. He then went on to study a MFA in Fine Art from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff in 2010. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally, including Experimentica X, Chapter, Cardiff (2010) and Welsh Artist of the Year, St. Davids Hall, Cardiff (2012).

The artist was in the following exhibition:
Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain
