Inês Brites, Guarda-saco, 2019, Silicone, iron, pigment, Variable Dimensions
Ines uses video and installation as a way of paying attention to the banality of mundane things. The works act as an archive of sensory and virtual experiences.
‘I understand my work as a second-hand house, where all obsolete things and all kinds of collections end up. From an investigative look, the work that I developed becomes an accumulation of references, objects that go unnoticed, as well as the constant massive amount of information and stimuli, to which we are subjected daily.’
Ines Brites has recently participated in group shows in Portugal, Brasil, Paraguay, and Italy and has featured in the Portugese Emerging art Catalogue 2017 and 2018.
The artist was in the following exhibition: RAT TRAP x g39
