This workshop will explore the art of ropemaking by weaving our shared histories and personal identities through fabric. Free. Everyone is invited!

Inspired by the textile works within the film installation, Marvi and the Churail, we’ll create intricate ropes using a variety of different fabrics. Participants are encouraged to bring a piece of fabric that holds personal or cultural significance, which will be knotted into the ropes, adding a personalised touch to each creation.

We will work with different fabric lengths, learning knotting techniques and sewing embellishments to reflect the multiplicity of our individual identities. This session provides a creative space to express and connect through textile art.

All materials are provided. Please note that children under 12 may need some assistance with needlework, so adult supervision is recommended.
