Spiro Farrugia

Lives and works in Cardiff

Spiro Farrugia produces works of ephemeral and ghostly reflected light. He works with installation and sculpture, using video projection, reflective surfaces and sound.
In his work the idea of the irreversible past is played out, and the mental space created between Now and Then allows us moments of fantasy, but ultimately we can never physically re-visit those places. The gallery visitor intervenes in the work by interacting with the abstract, but intensely personal projection - an intervention that can never be repeated.

Spiro is currently teaching part-time at Fitzalan High School in Cardiff and is embarking upon a new body of work.
