Marko Mäetamm

Marko Mäetamm’s work explores his position within society as an artist, husband and father, and the struggle to exist and survive within the cyclical nature of daily life.

His work deals with this in unrepentantly violent yet darkly humourous ways, asking whether his life would be simpler, or if he could function as an artist more effectively, if he were to subject his family to horrendous murderous acts. Repeated nightmare and the lines between fact and fiction create hellish images, but ones that are playfully depicted in light-hearted hand-drawn animation and bizarre playground sculptures

Current projects include an exhibition at Wäinö Aaltonen Museum of Art, Turku, Finland. Mäetamm lives and works in Tallin, Estonia and is represented by Nettie Horn.

The artist was in the following exhibition:
Innocence and despair
