Helen Sharp

b. Vatersay Island, Hebrides, Scotland
Lives and works in Inisherk Island in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.

An animal raised on the southerly most inhabited island in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland I have always been fascinated by the effect of geographies on individuals and communities. My work to date details theories of autobiography and theories of place and how the two combine. I articulate my ideas through various methods including collage, sculpture and print as well as often in text. I predominantly bring these elements together to make site-specific installations or bespoke exhibitions in strange places. I have an on-going fascination with the feral, animal sentience and wildness in its greatest context.
