Join us for Neighbourhood Crowd, have a free cuppa and light snack, see the show, have a chat. Everyone is invited.

Neighbourhood Crowd is a gathering in the kitchen at g39. It’s a chance to spend some time here with us, to see the exhibition, or to visit the library – but with a snack or a cuppa.

On the 29th June we are collaborating with DOGEAR and Yellow Back Books to host a reading group.

Dog Ear, aka artists Emma Edmondson and Lu Williams, host a reading group around a text they wrote called Do Not Touch. The publication explores the importance of playfulness when it comes to making art and what we can learn from our pets to support creative activities. This reading group is perfect for anyone interested in art, making and animals to explore how they can all work together to bring joy.

Artist bios

Artists Emma Edmondson and Lu Williams combined their love of art and dogs to create Dog Ear - a sustainable dog toy company creating art for dogs to play with and publications for humans to read. Dog Ear combines Emma and Lu’s sculptural and publishing practices with research on dog play and psychology to counteract the throw away culture and mass production seen in fast fashion and the dog toy industry. Sustainability and slow making are central to Dog Ear, their playful dog toy sculptures are handmade from pre-loved materials and come in a compostable doggie bag to play with, put on a plinth or pull apart. Each toy is unique, like an artwork, so once it’s gone it’s gone.

Email helloyellowbackbooks@gmail.com to get the text we will be reading in advance.

Local creatives in Roath are designing the logos and we are inviting catering companies and artists that work directly to serve the community to provide meals and host the space.

Drop in anytime between 11am-1pm or come and go, it’s free to visit. We try to organise them for the last Saturday of every month while exhibitions are on. For details check here

This event is an alternative to an opening / launch event, a social space to come together and share food instead of drinks, a space to meet up with friends and enjoy art together.

This is a free event and meal.
The food served will either be vegan or variations of the meal will be vegan.

Future Dates - 29/06/24, 27/07/24, 31/08/24, 28/09/24, 26/10/24
